Eating organically when traveling is hard and for better or for worse, it often requires packing your own snacks. Frankly, given the airplane food these days, I'd bring my own lunch whether it's organic or not. Being a devotee of organic food, a picky eater and a grouchy bear if I'm not fed, I've developed some travel snacking strategies that keep me healthy and happy on the road. Cream Cheese Wreath Cake with Maple Glaze

What a great holiday dessert! Ingredients: Cake 2 cups flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 8 ounces butter, softened (2 sticks) 8 ounces cream cheese, softened 2 cups sugar 6 eggs Glaze 1 tablespoon almond extract 1 tablespoon melted butter 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 tablespoons maple syrup Decoration 1/2 cup confectioner's sugar 1/2 cup organic raisins or organic sweetened cherries 1/2 cup organic almonds Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
