These words from Margaret Mead come to mind as we think about how grateful we are to be part of the 1% for the Planet community -- a community of businesses that have united together to give back to the planet. Through this program, Allgood Provisions has joined more than 1,200 companies in 48 countries that are also giving back 1% of their sales to more than 3,300 non profits. And, this model is really working. Collectively we’ve topped $100 million in donations!
Each pouch of Allgood Provisions that is purchased helps us provide donations to local, national and international non profits. This year the recipients of our donations were:
Swaner Preserve and Eco Center
Mission: To Preserve the land and the human connection to the natural landscape, to Educate the local and broader communities about the value of nature, and to Nurture both the ecosystem and the people connected with it.
The mission of the Swaner Preserve and Eco Center resonates with Allgood Provisions, because we believe education and experience are necessary to spread the message of preservation. The Preserve sits on 1,200-acres of open space in the mountain community of Park City, Utah and boasts a 10,000 sq ft. education and museum building. It serves as a refuge for wildlife and reminds us of the importance of the human relationship with nature and why we need to respect it.
Mission: The Waterkeep
er movement’s mission is for swimmable, drinkable, fishable waterways worldwide. Waterkeeper Alliance is the world’s fastest growing environmental movement, uniting more than 220 Waterkeeper organizations around the world. The Waterkeeper organizations are on the frontlines of the global water crisis patrolling and protecting more than 1.5 million square miles of waterways on six continents.
Allgood Provisions stands behind Waterkeeper Alliance because they stand for restoration and enforcement of clean water laws, protecting wetlands and streams, stopping mountaintop removal coal mining, and halting the destruction of critical wildlife habitats. Pure water means pure farms. We carefully consider the source of our products and have made a commitment to our consumers to provide only quality organic products. We believe supporting this organization will help protect the independent, organic farms we work with.
Mission: Trees for the Future is dedicated to planting trees with rural communities in the developing world, enabling them to restore their environment, grow more food, and build a sustainable future. 
Tree donations help farming communities in three ways, by generating steady income, helping families afford clothing, food and education, and restoring soil and other natural resources. Through our donation, Allgood Provisions helped plant more than 10,000 trees this year in developing countries around the globe! In fact, Allgood Provisions founder Jake Boyd and members of the Allgood Team had the opportunity to see Trees for the Future in action at a site in Honduras this past May, witnessing first hand the impact an organization like this can make.
It’s our belief that businesses have a responsibility to not only succeed in the marketplace, but to do their best to create positive social and environmental change. Allgood Provisions has made a commitment to reduce our ecological footprint and operate in an earth-friendly manner. We believe this commitment also means giving back.
