Allgood goes to Nicaragua

In May of this year we were lucky enough to team up with Libraries for All – a non-profit that sends food, goods and volunteers to Nicaragua – to visit the people of Ameya, Nicaragua. The impoverished area has been hit particularly hard by both the economic recession and hurricanes, leaving hundreds of malnourished people and children in its wake. During our travels we visited a dumpsite people were living in, an orphanage and a school and library where we were able to donate over 100 lbs of organic food. Banana chips were hands down the favorite provisions, with raisins in second and cherries and cranberries tied for third.
